Truth & Hair is a haircare brand that celebrates individuality and self-acceptance. Rooted in the belief that every hair type curly, straight, or wavy deserves authentic, effective care, the brand focuses on love, empowerment, and thoughtful solutions. With this spirit, Truth & Hair promotes the idea of embracing one’s true self. We translated this vision into a comprehensive brand strategy—encompassing brand naming, identity, packaging, and the design and development of an intuitive eCommerce experience.
Challenges and Goals
The challenge was to create a name that captured the brand’s bold and confident spirit of self-acceptance while being memorable and versatile. The solution: Truth&Hair — a playful wordplay on Truth & Dare, where “Truth” reflects the brand’s core idea of embracing authenticity. The name is fun, fearless, and expressive, perfectly aligned with the brand’s essence of self-expression. Its versatile structure enables engaging wordplay across messaging, driving distinctiveness and high recall. In a crowded market, this name gives the brand a unique and spirited personality that stands out.
Packaging Design
The packaging was designed to make a bold statement, intentionally highlighting the hair type over the product type, reinforcing the brand’s core idea of individuality and encouraging consumers to choose products that embrace, rather than “fix,” their natural hair directly challenging conventional narratives of "only" straight hair. The packaging is also designed to be travel-friendly, catering to the needs of a mobile, on-the-go generation. The form factor of the packaging was also carefully considered sleek, purposeful, and travel-friendly, to resonate with today’s on-the-go generation, ensuring the brand is as dynamic as the audience it serves.
